A number of road closures will be affecting motorists Sunday due to construction projects, special events and festivals.
Bloor Street will be blocked off between Spadina Ave. and Bathurst St. today from 7am to 8pm for the 14th annual Festival on Bloor. The 2.5km strip of road will be car free for the duration of the day-long festival which celebrates the Bloor-Annex neighbourhood's unique local heritage.
Woofstock, which is North America’s largest dog festival, will continue to close Front St. between Yonge St. and Jarvis St. until midnight on June 13. Market St. from Front St. E. south to The Esplanade, Church St. from Colborne St. south to The Esplanade and Scott St. from Wellington St. E. to Front St. E. will also be closed.
The Toronto Challenge Run will close Wellington St. W. from Simcoe St. to John St. in both directions from 8 a.m. to noon this morning. There will be some road closures in the area south of Wellington St. W., east of Bathurst St., north of Queens Quay and west of York St. during the event. The 5km walk and 1km run raises money for local seniors.
All northbound and southbound lanes of Avenue Rd./Queen's Park Cres. will be closed at Bloor St, for construction until Monday, June 14 at 6am.
Buses operating along the 5 Avenue Rd. route will detour to St. George Station all day today.
The Gardiner Expressway will be closed between Carlaw Ave. and the Humber River both Sunday and Monday evenings between 8 pm and 4 am for Lake Shore and Jameson bridge rehabilitations.
Motorists are encouraged to use Lake Shore Blvd. or The Queensway as alternate routes and to give themselves lots of extra time for transportation.
